I made some papier mache clay ornaments in December for fun. The first one is a goat for Wirehed, so he could have his very own “Goat in Tree.” I added some strips of paper from the Three Billy Goats Gruff story on the goat body before I painted him. I tied ribbon around his legs to secure him to the tree, otherwise, he can be freestanding.
Then, I made a Big Green Egg ornament out of homemade paper clay as well. This was supposed to go on a Solstice tree at Wirehed’s parents’ house where we hang an ornament that represents something that we did or something that is important to us during the year. We’ve been doing it for about 15 years, and it is neat to look back and see the houses, pets and various hobby representations in ornament form.
Since the Egg was a big deal in Wirehed’s cooking life this year, I thought it would be cute to make him one. He loved it so much, he didn’t want it to leave the house. So, I made a quick second version out of Sculpey to hang on the Solstice tree.
