Die Hard (1988) was the movie of choice this evening. Normally a traditional Christmas movie in our house, it’s been out of the loop the last couple of years waiting for its High Definition release. We finally picked it up a couple of weeks ago, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Clever one-liners, well timed with smirky humor. The art of the one-liner eludes us far too often these days.
I barely recognized Alan Rickman. I blame the beard. And 21 years. Funny how shocking it is to see people in movies from 20 years ago. It makes you feel old. So does seeing corded car phones, computers the size of furniture and green and black monitors and remembering that stuff from high school or later.
Looking forward to watching this again in December. Yippie ki yay motherfucker!
